Remote signings are a common accommodation used for either buyers, sellers or in the case of a re-finance, borrowers to assist in the signing process. As the name implies, this accommodation allows the customer to sign the closing documents remotely according to the requirements of your settlement agency.
If this accommodation is selected, you will be presented with the option to provide additional relevant details in the notes section of the accommodation. The remote signing icon (
) will then appear on our transaction with a small "B" or "S" to indicate whether this accommodation is for the buyer/seller or both. In the case of a refinance, the icon will appear without this designation. Your Escrow Officer/Settlement Agent will be able to see these details and can coordinate the remote signing specifics accordingly.
